Is there a right way to listen?
Life is intense right now - probably for just about everyone. So, it can feel funny, or arrogant, or selfish of me to keep focusing on "aspiring". But then I remind myself that Aspirate is not only about aspiring. It is also about leaning into feeling - AND breathing. So today I ask you to breathe. Take a few deep breaths and remind yourself of the things in this life that you are thankful for. Even just stopping and doing this for a moment gives you a break from anxiety.
If while breathing, you realize that Aspirate might help you on your journey, then please attempt to let it in. You can begin of course by listening on streaming, if you have doubts. If you need help finding it, please reach out, I am happy to help.
Those that listen intently will have one sort of experience. I'd say it is the ideal experience, but I can't speak for the way any music affects any listener with any specificity anyway. Those who put it on in the background of another task - will also have their own sort of experience. Not necessarily better, or worse. Just different.
I might say I feel it is best absorbed with intention - but isn't that what all composers would say? Unless the purpose is to *zone out* - composers SHOULD hope that you'll pay close attention. If they put forth any effort, of course they would want you to listen closely!
I'd say you should ideally listen with high quality speakers or headphones - but again - isn't that what we all say? Guess what - go ahead and listen to this on the phone or on an old laptop's speakers. This album was mastered by a skilled fellow that I'd say has elevated my game as far as how accurate music will sound across all devices.
OK this went way longer than I intended. So I'll stop now, haha. But please just remember to breathe. We got this.
